Norway-based Tomra Sorting Recycling said it plans to showcase its X-Tract X-ray sorter at IFAT 2016, one of the world’s leading trade shows for environmental technology. The company will be in booth 339/438 in hall C2 at the event in Munich from May 30th to June 3rd.
In its newly launched form, the X-Tract is “a more powerful and efficient sorting tool with new sensors that further improve the performance and stability of the machine,” Tomra said.”For operators, the enhanced sorting system ensures higher metal recovery purity, less product loss, consistent product quality and ensures the recovery of marketable by-products,” the company said in a press release.
In addition to delivering these upgraded pieces, Tomra Sorting Recycling says its designers have reduced the machine’s operating costs.
The company added that new user-friendly features include an intuitive and flexible touchscreen interface for process control and adjustment.
Tomra also said it plans to adopt Tomra Care, “a customer service system designed to generate optimal performance, long-term operational efficiency and maximum business value throughout the product lifecycle.”
Jonathan Clarke, Tomra Sorting Recycling Global Sales Director, said: “Our expertise in extracting high-purity fractions from waste streams while maximizing yields and profits makes IFAT 2016 the perfect stage to highlight our new X-Tract. Its advanced Its capabilities will appeal to a wide range of customers, and its robust construction brings the further benefits of higher efficiency and longer service life.”
He added: “By presenting Tomra Care at the event, we also have the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to a customer-centred approach. For Tomra Sorting, services start at the pre-purchase stage, where guided decisions can lead to prudent buyers. significant benefits and extend over the operational life of the plant facility.”
JCB equipment distributor CSTK JCB has opened a new dedicated JCB sales, service and rental facility at 401 Shawnee Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. The new JCB facility is across the street from CSTK’s existing Thermo King dealership at 400 Shawnee Ave.
“When we initially became a JCB distributor in 2013, we incorporated JCB products into our existing facility and planned to build a new facility at a new location,” said Dave Burns, CSTK Inc. vice president.Streets of our Thermo King location become available. We moved our JCB operations to that building and put the JCB sign on it, where we are currently selling, repairing and leasing equipment.”
CSTK is a Thermo King dealer and transportation solutions provider with 13 locations in the United States. The company provides transportation companies, fleets, owner-operators and other vehicle/heavy equipment users with the units, parts and services needed for their operations.
“Each CSTK location evaluates their market independently to determine whether other commercial ventures make sense in their respective fields,” Burns said.”In Kansas City, selling JCB equipment is perfect for us. JCB’s Tier 4 Final engines that don’t require a diesel particulate filter (DPF) are very similar to those used in our other manufacturers’ equipment, so it’s easy for us to cross-train our technicians , salespeople and parts professionals. We also like the fact that both units offer eco-friendly engine solutions. Carrying JCB was a fairly easy decision.”
Due to Kansas City’s busy residential construction market, CSTK JCB has successfully leased JCB’s telescopic handlers to builders who use them to lift pallets of roof tiles, lumber and other building materials. The company said it sold several 3CX superbackhoe loaders to Leavenworth County, Kansas, and JCB’s skid steer and compact track loaders with unique side doors have also gained some traction in the market. Appeal.
“At CSTK, safety is very important to us; we have a corporate safety executive who travels to our locations to ensure we follow proper safety procedures and proactively train our employees,” Burns said.”Back in 2013, when I first saw JCB’s skid steer systems, I was very impressed because they help our customers to be safer at work and to get in and out of the cab with ease.”
According to Burns, since CSTK JCB began selling equipment in early 2014, JCB’s market share in the Kansas City area has been increasing for a number of reasons.
“We really felt that JCB’s DPF-free engine solution was a huge selling point,” he said.”Other manufacturers’ machines require the use of DPF and the time it takes to go through the regeneration process. We are working hard to communicate this as this is a huge benefit to the end user. Additionally, our inventory and service support follow CSTK’s established Implementing a client-centric vision for over 40 years. It’s a testament to who we are and the type of service JCB clients can expect from us.”
UK-based Bunting Magnetics Europe Ltd. has announced the development of a new magnetic separator for separating and recycling printed circuit boards (PCBs).The company says the High Strength Separation Conveyor (HISC) was originally designed to separate very weakly magnetic materials, such as worn and shredded stainless steel, and features strong magnetic head pulleys. In field testing by a UK plastics recycling company, HISC was also found to be effective in separating and recycling PCBs.
Separating PCBs is a problem for many recycling companies, especially those dealing with waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).A PCB contains many components mounted on a non-conductive substrate. They often contain gold, palladium, silver, copper and different hazardous substances that cannot be disposed of in landfills. While the company specializes in recovering precious metals from PCBs, PCBs must first be recovered.
Bunting’s HISC magnetic separators are typically installed after primary magnetic separation and eddy current separation to remove weakly magnetic materials from primary products to produce clean recycled materials or to recover valuable materials such as stainless steel and PCBs.
“The magnetic field strength is much greater than standard magnetic separators, extending separation capabilities from only removing ferrous and ferromagnetic materials to materials with very low magnetic susceptibility,” Bunting said of its HISC.
