The legislation establishes minimum performance standards for a range of fans and ventilation equipment in accordance with two pieces of legislation: “residential” ventilation and “non-residential” ventilation. To comply with the law, we have reviewed our products and made updates where necessary to ensure they are in compliance. With Vent-Axia’s commitment to providing our customers with the best possible solutions, we have taken the opportunity to update and improve some of our products by making them ErP compliant. We’ve also improved how we offer some of these products, giving you more choice and flexibility in how you store and sell your products. For example, the EKF kitchen fan has a built-in EC motor speed controller, high temperature up to 120 degrees, the motor is out of the airflow, and the specific power of the fan is less than 1W/L/s. Legislative Approval Document F 2010 – Ventilation The purpose of this regulation is to ensure adequate ventilation for people in buildings. According to the document, ventilation is “the removal of stale air from a building and its replacement with fresh outside air.” By providing fresh outdoor air to breathe, ventilation helps dilute and remove pollutants and reduce humidity/condensation, creating a more comfortable environment and helping people with asthma and allergies. Part F is a general performance-based build solution that explains not only what should be achieved, but also how to achieve it. These changes were driven by pollutants in modern homes, and the types and allowable levels of pollutants are now detailed in Part F of the 2010 Permit Document. Nitrogen Dioxide (NO 2 ) Carbon Monoxide (CO 2 ) Total Volatile Compounds (TVOC) Biological Effluent (Body Odor) In ADF 2010, ventilation requirements for new properties are based on an analysis of floor space, number of bedrooms and occupants. for the entire residence. ADF 2010 covers four systems including intermittent exhaust, passive stack, continuous mechanical exhaust (MEV) and mechanical heat recovery ventilation (MVHR). A guide is available called “Home Ventilation Compliance Guidelines”. This includes installation methods as well as signing and commissioning. Energy efficiency regulations require buildings to be better sealed and airtight. ADF 2010 has two ventilation rates that depend on the design permeability of your building. There is one ventilation rate for objects with a permeability above 5 m 3 h/m 2 (more leaky objects) and a higher ventilation speed for objects below 5 m 3 h/m 2 (more airtight objects). The practical result of this means that the following applies in terms of containment properties: • Droplet emissions with intermittent fans can be increased by up to 50% • MEV in properties with an increase in MVHR of 5 m 3 h/m 2 or more No jet vents required jet ventilation, which can provide basement ventilation and window replacement. Compliance with Part F requires that the installation characteristics comply with the ventilation values ​​specified in the document. This means that the ventilation must be commissioned and signed by a qualified person. Noise As airtightness improves, so does the acoustic properties, reducing outside noise entering our homes. However, this makes any noise generated inside the facility more visible, so in Part F the maximum noise level for the flow rate of a continuous ventilation system is set at 35 dB(A). Approvals L 2013 – Fuel and Energy Savings These approvals set minimum performance levels for efficient ventilation and reduced system energy consumption. These regulations have brought some major changes to the ventilation industry to improve air quality and energy efficiency. Part L – Overview • Emission targets and fabric energy efficiency standards aim to reduce carbon emissions by 6% • Non-Residential Building Services Compliance Guidance with specific fan power requirements. The minimum heat recovery efficiency complies with EN308 test standard. • Target Specific Fan Power (SFP) for new or replacement hood systems for commercial kitchens is 1 W/l/s. • Minimum energy efficiency level for all ventilation systems. New and retrofit applications for batch fans should have an SFP of less than 0.5 W/l/s.

The legislation establishes minimum performance standards for a range of fans and ventilation equipment based on two pieces of legislation: “residential” ventilation and “non-residential” ventilation. To comply with the law, we have reviewed our products and made updates where necessary to ensure they are in compliance. Major changes mean that many products have been fitted with interchangeable motors or have been upgraded to provide speed control. However, we have made sure that the installation method does not change. During the review, we also took the opportunity to streamline our scope where necessary. All related products in this document have been updated to comply with ErP regulations. Please note that due to product changes due to ErP we will have a transition period from old to new, any inventory you currently have is not affected by this provision and can be sold as normal. Residential Products Residential Products has a secondary directive that requires certain products to carry an energy efficiency label, as described below: falls under the law. MVHR and MEV products These products are subject to legislation and carry an energy efficiency label. There are some minimum energy efficiency requirements as well as summer bypass requirements for heat recovery models. We have updated several products to meet these requirements. The following products have been discontinued: • Products with a Kinetic E ErP Energy Efficiency Rating must now have a rating showing their Energy Efficiency Rating. This information is referred to as the “SEC Rating” and is available on all product documentation and on energy efficiency labels. The SEC rating of a product depends on how the product is controlled. This is called local demand control (LDC) and determines how many “sensors” a fan should have. Regulations require room fans, such as bathroom fans, to have at least 1 sensor. Piping units such as MEV units require multiple sensors. For example, a cord/light switch or a humidistat. In our literature, we show ratings where appropriate if an additional amount of LDC is added to a product. In these cases, you will see a table like the one below with a title (including LDC). This allows you to choose the most efficient option for your needs. 5 Non-residential sector Non-residential premises have minimum performance and efficiency levels, but do not require an energy label. Some products have been updated with new motors and speed control enabled. Non-residential premises are divided into many different categories depending on their use and functions. They can be described as follows: 1. Fan 2. One-way ventilation 3. Two-way ventilation 1. Fan These products have a simple single housing to direct air in and out of the impeller. Examples include axial flow plates and case fans. These examples are outside the scope of the law. Changing the way products are sold. The ErP regulation has given us the opportunity to review our product range and, in some cases, improve the way we store and sell. Examples of this are the T and Standard series fans. You can buy them now as a whole product or in a modular format. The entire product can be purchased using the existing part number you used. In addition, you can buy just the motor core or just the accessory kit, depending on your needs. Don’t worry if you are not sure about the new part number, as we will be able to tell you what the new part number is. However, in some cases, you may receive more than one box.
6 2. One-way ventilation This includes products that have only one direction and have an additional shroud around the fan. This is the product category that needs the most changes. The impact of efficiency legislation means that meeting the requirements for AC centrifugal fans with forward curved blades is nearly impossible. That’s why we use backward-curved centrifugal fans in all of our AC case fan series. This means resizing the box and tweaking performance across the range. As a result, the product range has been updated: ACQ/ATQ QP/QPTW We have many end-of-life product lines and we take this opportunity to streamline them and provide suitable alternatives where possible. The following product lines are no longer available: VMD RMV GRB GDB GRD Other product lines have been upgraded to provide the solution, including: ARH – streamlined as MFQ RBH – streamlined as RMH 3. Two way ventilation Both of these product lines provide heat recovery Wait. Minimum energy requirements are now set for heat recovery efficiency. Any product with an efficiency of 67% or less is not suitable. These changes did not affect either Totus 2 or the ERV-HIBOX series, but the ERV-BOX product with low heat recovery efficiency has been discontinued. 7 Since 1992, when ventilation was first introduced into building codes, the situation has changed little. Below is an overview of changes since 2006. 2006 Part F includes continuous ventilation for the first time. The ventilation system was installed by a technician, but the performance data was never verified. The change in part L means that SAP Q products can be used as part of SAP home billing. 2010 – Designed, installed and ensured its intended use. As houses are designed to be more energy efficient and less breathable, ventilation systems now require specific flows and there is a greater need for efficient heat recovery to help reduce the EDR. Now you need to properly install the ventilation, record and measure the installation, and instruct the residents how to do it. 2013 – New Part L requirements mean less air leaks and better tightness. These trends continue to drive efficiency gains, and with further reductions in usable air from leaks, the importance of the installation is increasing. 2016 – With the recent COP21 meeting and Paris Climate Agreement commitments, attention to decarbonization and energy efficiency will continue. The Energy Efficiency in Buildings Directive and the Energy Efficiency Products Directive affect ventilation performance and efficiency standards. These factors will continue to evolve and are expected to become the norm in the future, which means increased attention to energy efficiency. The 2019 commitment to zero carbon buildings will mean possible changes to Parts F and L of the Building Code. As we focus on reducing energy use in buildings, there is an increased risk that airtight, well-insulated buildings can become a potential source of respiratory illness. Consequently, the importance of a well designed and well installed system that works as designed has increased. This will lead to a greater focus on competence in the installation of ventilation equipment and may lead to better training methods for installers. 14 The launch of the UK’s first app-controlled single Svara fan marks the birth of the next generation of single fan. For electricians, installation is easy via the Svara Bluetooth app, and you can choose between intermittent or continuous ventilation, whether you want the humidistat to trigger an action, and whether you want a timeout timer. No more bulky switches and jumpers! For consumers, Svara offers more comfort in the home as it was designed to allow households to monitor their indoor air quality through an app. Aesthetics and Silence The influence of the Svara name comes from the Swedish heritage of the fans – a country known for its iconic and thoughtful design. Consumers will be drawn to the Svara’s beautiful appearance with its sleek, modern design, and noise is a major concern for consumers, the Svara also impresses families with its quiet operation, running as low as 17dBA in low trickle mode. It’s also easy to clean as the central module decouples the motor from the rest of the fan so it just needs to be wiped down with a soft cloth, and the energy efficient 4W Svara is also low power. One model fits all Vent-Axia Svara is programmed to work with the vast majority of installations. By default, the fan is set to run continuously at a low flow rate of 10 l/s. When the fan senses that someone is in the room, it increases the flow to 19 l/s. If the humidity rises quickly, for example in the shower, the fan speeds up to a maximum speed of 30 l/s. When the fan senses that the humidity level is returning to normal, it returns to a trickle of 10 l/s. If additional settings or features are required, they can be selected via the Vent-Axia Connect app available for download on the App Store and Google Play. Functional light sensor When the light sensor is turned on, Svara senses that someone is in the room and then activates. Its sophisticated light sensor is triggered by the movement of light and shadows. You can set a turn-on delay so that the fan does not turn on from the light when you quickly go to the toilet at night. The light sensor can also distinguish between the flickering of car headlights and the presence of people in the room, so it will not be triggered by passing vehicles and will not interfere with operation. The sensitivity of the light sensor can be adjusted via the app. The overflow timer light sensor provides an overflow timer, but it must be active and neutral. In homes where only main fans are installed, homeowners can upgrade to timing fans without rewiring. HumidistatSvara has a humidistat that reacts to sudden changes in humidity, such as when someone is taking a shower. When set to continuous operation, after the humidity sensor is triggered, the fan will run at 30 l/s until the humidity returns to normal, after which the fan power will decrease to 10 l/s. Changes in ambient humidity do not trigger the humidistat. The sensitivity of the humidity sensor can be changed via the app. Silent scheduling and automatic quiet time cycle functions allow you to turn off the gain function on Svara through the app, which will prevent, for example, annoying noises at night. Also on holidays, you can set Swara to airing mode, in which the cleaning function runs every 12 hours for 30, 60 or 90 minutes, depending on the choice. However, if the light sensor detects someone in the house, Swara’s complex controls won’t work. The result is a stylish fan with attractive surface depth that matches the contemporary accessories found in contemporary bathrooms. The visible blades create a retro feel and help ensure a very quiet fan noise level. Quiet Operation The open impeller and unique motor operation method allow for more operation options, including silent continuous ventilation as well as adaptive speed control and flexible timer functions. Humidity Control The iQ is equipped with an intelligent fully automatic humidity sensor for humidity control. This means that the fans only learn to run when they can change the indoor air quality. Fans continuously monitor and record humidity levels to map the humidity distribution throughout the year. This process allows the fan to ensure that it only runs when the fan can reduce the moisture content of the air. This reduces annoying runs. The fan also has two humidity control modes: silent or boost mode, which can be selected using the touch panel. Control Panel Our goal is to enable the end user to control and understand the basic functions of the fan without having to read the manual. When the fan is connected to a power source, it also performs a self-test, checking all status lights on the control panel and motor functionality. Great for those who install to make sure everything is in order. Simple controls and LED feedback make commissioning and any additional settings quick and easy. LED Feedback Many fans may find it difficult to understand exactly which mode they are in. We have now simplified this to provide a visual indicator of what the fan is doing and which mode is currently active. The fan uses three different colors on the visible status indicator to communicate exactly what it is doing. The blue light indicates that the fan is expelling moisture through the humidity sensor. Yellow light means the timer is running. Purple light indicates that the automatic ventilation function is activated. You can select the fan operation mode The smart run-on timer can work in different ways: either as a standard on/off, or as an instant on/off time that automatically stops after coasting using a light switch, built-in cord or a separate switch. You can easily set your desired post start time to 15 or 30 minutes using the control panel, depending on your choice. Full Size Surface Mounting The nozzles on the fan are completely removable due to the low profile and easy to maintain design of the impeller and motor assembly. This design allows the fan to be wall-mounted without any outlets, so it can actually be surface-mounted. This is an ideal feature if you have a duct less than 100mm or a duct that curves straight from the back of the fan without providing wall depth for the outlet. Cleaning and Maintenance Keeping the air ducts and grilles clean and free of dust is very important for effective fan ventilation, as dust reduces the airflow through them. It was the first fan to simply remove the impeller and open the center of the fan for free access to the duct. With the “tilt” function, you can easily clean and clean fans, such as blocked grilles on the outside of exterior walls. Press the button to remove the impeller, then press the latch and pump the motor – you’re done!
17 Automatic ventilation function The ventilation function means that if the fan does not operate for 26 hours, it starts a ventilation program for 60 minutes to replace the air in the bathroom. Come back from vacation and never worry about stuffy, musty smells in the bathroom. 5 Year Lo-Carbon Warranty Thanks to the power adapter built into the fan, we can use a low voltage motor with a service life of about 60,000 hours. This is about 3-5 times longer than a standard fan. The motor has very quiet bearings. By using low voltage motors, we can significantly limit the energy consumption. The fan consumes only 5W, which is about one third of the cost of a traditional AC bathroom fan. The Lo-Carbon iQ Multi model controls the fan and can operate in intermittent or continuous mode. 18 VA100 Long Life Ventilation The Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon VA100 series fans are equipped with a durable low carbon DC motor that is more efficient than traditional motors and can save up to 87% energy. Blinds of the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon BA100 series are equipped with electric blinds that do not use additional electricity when working or closing. The Lo-Carbon VA100 comes with built-in protection for low power lighting circuits and is a 100mm axial fan for bathrooms or toilets. The VA100 is an easy-to-connect terminal for quick and easy in-line installation. Suitable for installation on windows, walls or panels/ceilings using kits available. The 100 mm telescopic wall kit is suitable for wall thicknesses from 225 to 360 mm. The range complies with current building codes for ventilation of 6 l/s in toilets and 15 l/s in bathrooms, and is equipped with a 15-minute indoor timer on LT, XT and HTP models. Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) Fans Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) fans are designed for use in areas where a fan must be installed in Zone 1 of a room containing a fixed bath or shower, in accordance with the IEE wiring regulations. The VA100 SELV can be safely installed in the spray area.
