CZ Purlin Forming Machine Product Description

The CZ purlin forming machine is an efficient cold bending forming equipment specially designed for the steel structure building field. Its core function is to precisely process metal coils such as cold-rolled steel strips and hot-dip galvanized steel strips into two specifications of building purlins (C-type and Z-type) through a continuous roll forming process. It can quickly switch between the two types without additional replacement of forming rolls. As a core supporting equipment for steel structure buildings such as industrial plants, warehouses, logistics centers and light steel villas, it can greatly improve purlin production efficiency, ensure product precision, and reduce labor and material costs.

Core Structure and Working Principle

The equipment adopts a modular combined design, with a stable overall structure and easy maintenance. It is mainly composed of seven functional units that work together to realize the full-process automatic production from raw material feeding to finished product discharging, without complex manual intervention:

- Feeding and Uncoiling Unit: It adopts an internal support type uncoiling frame, which can stably carry various metal coils. It is equipped with a pressing device to prevent coil loosening, and a material guiding mechanism to accurately introduce the coils into the next process, adapting to the feeding needs of coils with different widths and weights, ensuring smooth feeding without jamming.

- Straightening and Guiding Unit: Equipped with a multi-roll straightening module, it can effectively eliminate the curling stress of the coil, straighten the curved coil into a flat plate. At the same time, it is positioned by precise guide rolls to prevent the plate from shifting during the forming process, providing a basic guarantee for the subsequent forming precision and ensuring that the plate is in an accurate position when entering the forming host.

- Roll Forming Unit: As the core component of the equipment, it is composed of 8-24 groups of precision forming rolls (the specific number can be adjusted according to the complexity of the profile). The rolls are made of Gcr15 bearing alloy steel,经过 intensive heat treatment (quenching hardness HRC58-62) and precision grinding processing, with a smooth and wear-resistant surface. Through the gradual roll pressing effect, the flat plate can be gradually bent into the preset C-type and Z-type cross-sections. The forming process has no scratches or wrinkles, and the cross-sectional shape is regular and consistent.

- Punching Unit (Optional): Equipped with a hydraulic punching device, it can synchronously complete the punching of purlin installation holes during the forming process according to customer needs, with precise hole positions and uniform hole diameters.5

Advantages of Roll Forming A Metal Part

There are several advantages of using roll forming for your projects:

    • The roll forming process allows operations such as punching, notching, and welding to be performed in-line. Labor cost and time for secondary operations are reduced or eliminated, reducing part costs.
    • Roll form tooling allows for a high degree of flexibility. A single set of roll form tools will make almost any length of the same cross-section. Multiple sets of tools for varying length parts are not required.
    • It can provide better dimensional control than other competing metal forming processes.
    • Repeatability is inherent in the process, allowing easier assembly of roll formed parts into your finished product, and minimizing problems due to “standard” tolerance build up.
    • Roll forming is typically a higher speed process.
    • Roll forming offers customers a superior surface finish. This makes roll forming an excellent option for decorative stainless steel parts or for parts requiring a finish such as anodizing or powder coating. Also, texture or pattern can be rolled into the surface during forming.
    • Roll forming utilizes material more efficiently than other competing processes.
    • Roll formed shapes can be developed with thinner walls than competing processes

Roll forming is a continuous process which converts sheet metal into an engineered shape using consecutive sets of mated rolls, each of which makes only incremental changes in the form. The sum of these small changes in form is a complex profile.
